Churches are places of rest and retreat and at the same time witnesses of our occidental culture.
Eisleben and the surrounding towns are home to a number of sacred buildings, cloisters, monestaries, churches and chapels dating back to the 10th Century. Each has its own characteristics and style, as they all differ greatly on their style, interior and general feeling.
Each is a monument to its time. It not only serves as a sanctuary, but also as architectural and memorial to the masters who built it and to those for whom it was built, the citizens of the villages, towns or cities, in which it stands.
