Naturlovers can hike on a7,3 km trail to the area of the almost forgotten village of Dippelsdorf. The trail winds between the summer and winter mountain to the fish pond. With luck, one can encounter the wildlife of the area, fox, duck, the European red squirrel, grey heron, frog and salamander. One can only imagine the little village, Dippelsdorf, which used to lay behind the right side of the pond. A portion of the trail can also be used by bike to reach Annerode.
The old custom of banishing Winter on Whitsun (The seventh Sunday after Easter), by a group of men called “Pfingstburschen” or the “Whitsun Boys” is practiced to this day in the villages of this area.
